印度一向被視為背包客旅行的大挑戰，有人去過後生不如死、避之唯恐不及，有人則是一去再去、流連忘返。

身為一個膽子很小的旅行者，按照旅行清單，我應該先去斯里蘭卡，再到更大、人更雜的印度，更應該先去南印度，再到北印度，但人算不如天算，我偏偏想起2016年8月的一個夢，還明明白白地記在Plurk上：「昨天晚上做了一個很棒的夢，開著車，一整片拉丁、繽紛的房子，貧民窟和皇宮，或許是翻出記憶拼貼，也可能是未來的一個畫面，覺得旅行換一個這樣的夢蠻不錯的。」因而被說服，夢中畫面的誘因太強，機票也一不小心就買到了，我只能說：「印度和旅行之神在召喚我。」

India is a big boss of backpackers. Some hate it so bad, and some love it so much.

As a traveler, I am not that fearless, especially India. On my travel list, I supposed to visit Siri Lanka first, then southern India. Last and last will be northern India. However, I never know why, there’s something conducting me to somewhere. Before I came out the idea of visiting India, I had a dream in August: “there’s so colorful and incredible. I could see the palaces, refugee and riches besides.” This sign makes up my mind and my fingers to book the flight ASAP. “India is calling me!”

女生一人遊印度很危險嗎？

女生無論去哪旅行都是被攻擊機會較男生大的，基本保護自己、養直覺在各旅途都不可以放鬆。不過，在出發去印度前，台灣新聞報導將印度渲染的彷彿只剩壞人，無論是親朋好友，甚至是我自己，都不停恐嚇放棄這趟旅行，印度，讓膽子本來就不大的我，被最大量未知的恐懼吞沒，不停的閱讀資料，試圖使自己別抖得這麼厲害。

YES & NO.

I have to say, no matter which country, girl is easy to be target without doubt. Basically, EVERYTIME abroad should be careful and know what I am exactly doing. Frankly speaking, I got a lot of fear of India from Taiwanese media, Taiwanese friends and my family, even myself. The most fear ever was swallowing me. I had to keep push myself to google, ask and read information as much as I can. And, tried no to shake that much.

在印度前後，我認識了很多人，也順利存活下來，其間有許多美好又有趣的人事物，有機會再紀錄下來，有人說：「沒事是運氣好。」我一向認為，運氣是可以累積的，出發前資訊的蒐集絕對能幫助自己判斷更加敏銳的。

India can be safe. If preparing well, and keeping alarm. This India trip, I met so many beautiful people, things and views. Most important, I love India and wanna visit there again.

總而言之，我想先讓發抖停下來，歸納了女生一人遊印度的各方建議和自我觀察心得：

All in all, I list top 10 tips from my Indian friends and my experience. For someone shaking for India trip:

1.     先在台灣找好朋友的朋友，或是熱心台灣居印人

Find and contact locals, including someone lives in India for a while

最好的資訊來源，絕對是正在當地的人。

我這趟旅行，因為很害怕，到處昭告天下、尋求協助，就遇上比我還緊張的Manu，他是在台灣讀博士的印度人，聽到我一個人要去印度，打電話叮嚀了兩小時，就趕緊聯絡他的朋友照顧我。同時我也努力攀關係聯繫了當地的台灣人，旅人的溫暖，真的會遏止無止盡的恐懼。

The best information is from locals.

Don’t be shy for letting others know need help. I met Manu from India, studying PHD in Taiwan. He organized all his friends to host and take care of me. And, spent 2 hours to make sure I can survive. :D

2.     與其選擇旅館，不如選擇國際青年旅館

Hostel is better than hotel.

青年旅館對於外國遊客的需求非常了解，也有合作的Auto司機，且英文流利，很少有無法溝通的狀況，甚至可以在青年旅館找到結伴走一段路的朋友。我在住貴族行館改建的旅館的時候，發現飯店再高級，服務人員受訓品質不一，當時就有服務員試圖闖入我的房間，事後退房才知道他是想要和我合照(?!)，也會發生服務員拿吹風機給我，卻想要踏進房間示範操作給我看，阻止他也好像聽不懂。

Hostel has experience for helping travelers and easy for having someone share the Auto. I stayed in Heritage hotel twice. Even was a costly hotel, didn’t mean SAFE. First, I met a staff tried to open my door and knocked my door to check I was out. Then, another hotel, there’s a staff directly walking in my room without asking. Although he was trying to show how to use hair dryer, still freaking me out.

3.     建議使用Uber當交通工具

Try to use Uber first

連印度人都愛用Uber，表示Uber算蠻安全的。印度的Uber是可以現金付款的，而且他們也蠻在意評價的，就算你想省錢坐Auto，也可以先看看Uber的價格來議價。

Hindi friends are all fans of Uber. They said it’s much safer than other way. Some Auto might be illegal and some taxi might choose further route. Before taking Auto, I also checked the price on Uber APP for bargaining.

4.     降低讓印度人會錯意的機會

Avoid for misunderstand by culture difference

印度很大，教育程度差異也很大，加上，男多女少的情況嚴重，來自鄉村打拼的人，多數是不懂得如何和女生相處，甚至沒怎麼看過年輕女生拋頭露面，我們旅行習慣的友好，可能會讓他們會錯意，一個微笑對他們來說就顛倒眾生，更不用說肢體接觸了。

India is huge country. Low-educated is as much as, maybe more than high-educated people. Most them, have no idea how to get along with girls, even from somewhere difficult to meet young girls. While I was traveling, smile is always good way to get closer to people. However, in India might have more meaning for few people there.

5.     學會幾句印度通用語(到南印度可能得學泰米爾語)

Learn some Hindi (if in south is Tamil)

對亞洲面孔，這或許可以幫助你假裝可能不是外國人，至少，能博得更多注意，甚至是不錯的友善方式。

For Asian face, speaking Hindi might be local. Especially northern India, they have many races here. At least, Hindi is a good way to show friendly.

6.     避免夜晚單獨出外和走小巷

Don’t walk alone at night and walk in lanes

印度晚上也不到可怕，但不管在哪，夜晚和暗巷都是犯罪的好地方，因為警察和人群通常不會在這樣的時間和地點出現。晚上十點在大街上走，就可以發現根本沒有女生了。

Doing something bad at night and in lanes is much easier to escape. And, police won’t be there mostly. When I was walking alone at 10 p.m. on the biggest road in big city Jaipur, there’s no girl at all.

7.     在火車或是公車，不要吃喝別人給的東西

Don’t drink and eat anything from someone else

連印度人都會互相提醒，朋友的朋友就發生，在四人一區的高級車廂，只吃了一塊餅乾就昏睡，睡醒就被洗劫一空，或是睡一覺手機充電器就不知道去哪裡了。我坐上火車前就收到一大堆提醒：千萬不准吃別人的東西！

One of my indian friends, she said it even happened of local. Her friend got a slice of cookies in first class on train. And, faint. After he woke up, his all luggage was gone. That’s why I got so many messages before I got on train.

8.     一人搭乘公車要坐在靠近駕駛和一家人附近

Get closer to bus driver and family group passengers

一個人在印度旅行，其實最便宜的移動方式就是搭公車了，當地巴士相當方便，可是每次踏上公車看到整車都是男生還是不由得每次都震撼一下。我發現早點到挑位置，坐在公車駕駛和收票員旁邊最安全，而且他們還會提醒我要下車，如果是夜間巴士，線上買票的座位都是虛無，能選就儘量選擇坐在攜家帶眷的團體旁邊，另外，坐在讀書人旁邊也不錯，我在火車上，通常在讀書的英文也好。

Taking bus is inexpensive and convenient way for traveling alone in India. However, it’s usual (and shock) that I was the only girl on bus. My experience is going to the bus station earlier and pick the seat closer to bus driver and family group passengers. Or people who is reading.

9.     印度還是有網路和電話比較安全

It’s better to have a phone number and internet

過去的旅行，我從不會特別辦電話或是網路，都是等到了住宿有wifi就好，但這趟在印度的旅程，辦了手機還是比較安全。首先，你可以打緊急電話100，或者聯絡印度朋友，再來，你有網路可以避免司機繞路，最後，讓朋友知道你還活著。

I’ve been 26 countries. India is my first country to have a local phone number and internet. And, there is 3 good things to have a local phone and internet with. First, if really meet something bad, I can call 100 and friends immediately. Second, to avoid driver cheater. Last, let facebook friends know I am alive.

10.  真的遇到危險，一定要想辦法引起別人的注意

Emergency time MUST call for help and get attention from others

總而言之，印度壞人基本上是追求小惡，當你弄得人盡皆知，反而會訕訕然離開，他們很少搶劫，寧可偷竊，當然也很少公然的騷擾，都是偷偷來，也不會想要和人有正面衝突，被踏死的新聞也比打架多。當遇到危險情況，一定要找別人幫忙，或是想辦法往人多的地方去，印度人多，總會有正義之士。

In conclusion, bad people in India is still care about how others look them. They prefer to steal than rob. And, like to do bad thing in private than public. Check the news, even stampede event is much common than fight event in public. If meet bad people in India, call for a help and go to somewhere having a lot of people. India has a lot of people, also has a lot of good people there.
